Dr. Sam Small serves as the Chief Security Officer of ZeroFOX, helping its customers implement world class social-media protection programs and supporting ZeroFOX to continuously advance its role as the innovation leader of social-media and collaborative-technology security solutions. After earning his doctorate in computer science from Johns Hopkins University, Sam was a lecturer, led an academic security research lab, and launched two security-industry startups, including Fast Orientation where he most recently served as CEO and continues to maintain a non-operational role as Chairman. In addition to his technical and entrepreneurial pursuits, Dr. Small has provided expert technology and security assessments of dozens of organizations and vendor products and conducted due diligence assessments for more than a dozen software-industry investments, mergers, and acquisitions. He has also served as an expert witness in several high-profile security, software, and network-related lawsuits. His work and research have been covered in publications including Wired, The New York Times, The Washington Post, New Scientist, CNET, ZDNet, and slashdot.
Patrick McBride is Chief Marketing Officer at ZeroFOX. With more than two decades of cybersecurity experience, he leads the company’s marketing and brand development efforts. Patrick is passionate about helping marketing professionals protect their brands and mitigate risks inherent in the social marketing and digital commerce era. Prior to joining the ZeroFOX, he was Chief Marketing Officer at Claroty, where he helped launch the company and create the category leader. As Vice President of Marketing and Communications at iSIGHT Partners (now FireEye), Mr. McBride was responsible for defining the global threat intelligence market and was a key advocate for security professionals shifting from attack response to proactive preparation. Before iSIGHT Partners, Patrick led global marketing at privileged identity management company, Xceedium Inc (now CA). Previously, he co-founded and served as the CEO of META Security Group, a security and compliance software and consulting company, and was a Senior Vice President of META Group (now Gartner), where he led the Global Research Team’s network security and IT operations practice. Mr. McBride is a frequent speaker at industry events. He holds a BS in Management and an AS in Computer Programming from Keene State College.
