Details

Coinzilla, an advertising platform focusing on the finance and cryptocurrency industries (developed by the advertising technology firm Sevio) suffered a data breach. On June 12, 2022, a threat actor "shrinbaba" on the Russian-speaking underground forum XSS posted a data package relating to this breach. The package was also circulated on RaidForums on July 09, 2021, by the threat actor "osintguy." The headers in the leaked database included names (first and last names), email addresses , usernames, passwords, last login, dollar balance, and others. From the package shared on XSS, ZeroFox extracted 51,315 usernames, email addresses, and hashed passwords.

Recommendations

  • If not already enabled, turn on the compromised credentials rule for all relevant entities and ensure relevant emails are entered for those entities, or reach out to [email protected] for assistance
  • If one of your entities receives an alert, ZeroFox recommends immediate password changes for the affected account
  • Enable 2-factor authentication for all of your organizational accounts to help mitigate phishing and credential stuffing attacks
