Details

On May 19, 2022, a recently registered threat actor "uawrongteam" from the Russian language deep web forum XSS posted a data breach package targeting CTARS (ctars[.]cloud), a cloud-based client management system and operational service solution provider operating from Singapore. The threat actor noted that the data dump includes 27k user emails. The data dump was also circulated in deep web forums like Leakbase on May 20, 2022 by the threat actor "Chucky" and in BreachForums on July 2, 2022 by the threat actor "Addka72424". From the package on XSS, ZeroFox extracted 70,828 usernames and/or email addresses. Of this total, an assessed 11,806 records contained hashed passwords.

Recommendations

  • If not already enabled, turn on the compromised credentials rule for all relevant entities and ensure relevant emails are entered for those entities, or reach out to [email protected] for assistance
  • If one of your entities receives an alert, ZeroFox recommends immediate password changes for the affected account
  • Enable 2-factor authentication for all of your organizational accounts to help mitigate phishing and credential stuffing attacks
