A criminal complaint was filed today in federal court in Brooklyn charging a U.S. citizen and resident of Nassau County, New York, with attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). The accused was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK Airport) in Queens, New York, on November 5 as they tried to board a flight to Doha, Qatar, from which they intended to ultimately travel to Syria to join ISIS.

China Gives Death Sentence to State Secret Leaker

China handed down a rare death sentence to a former state agency employee for leaking classified information to foreign intelligence agencies. China’s Ministry of State Security said that the man surnamed Zhang, had been a member of the core confidential personnel of a state agency, without specifying which agency employed him. He signed a cooperation agreement with a foreign spy surnamed Li who seized Zhang’s USB work flash drive and personal belongings, resulting in the leak of a large number of top-secret and confidential state secrets to foreign spy intelligence agencies, endangering China’s national security.
