ZeroFox Intelligence Flash Report Resumption of Israel-Hamas War

President Donald Trump’s February 2025 statements that the United States will take possession of the Gaza Strip very likely signal that the Trump administration is not interested in pursuing the third phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire. A resumption of fighting very likely increases the risk of regional instability, with Houthi rebels very likely to resume attacks in the Red Sea if the ceasefire collapses. ZeroFox has observed an uptick in activity from pro-Palestinian cyber threat actors, who will likely increase their targeting of U.S. and Israeli entities in the event the ceasefire collapses.

Likely vehicular assault in Germany ahead of Munich Security Conference

On February 13, 2025, a driver reportedly deliberately drove his vehicle into a crowd of people, injuring 28, in the southern city of Munich. The driver was reportedly an Afghan migrant, and the attack comes one day before the Munich Security Conference (MSC) and ahead of general elections on February 23. This is the latest attack by a migrant during an election campaign where limiting migration has been popular across parties. A Saudi anti-Islam-inspired driver carried out a similar attack on a Christmas market in late 2024, while an Afghan migrant killed two in a stabbing attack in January 2025.

INTERPOL Washington and Canada Sign Historic Partnership to Combat Tren de Aragua

INTERPOL Washington Director and National Central Bureau Ottawa Director have signed a historic Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) to strengthen cross-border law enforcement collaboration against Tren de Aragua (TdA), one of the world’s most dangerous transnational criminal organizations. Exploiting recent migration patterns, TdA has expanded its presence in North America and is now in cities and communities across both countries. This landmark agreement enhances the ability of INTERPOL Washington and NCB Ottawa to combat TdA through robust information sharing, coordinated law enforcement support, and strengthened border security efforts. According to the MOC, both countries have agreed to take concrete actions within the INTERPOL framework to improve police coordination, information sharing, and operational support against TdA in the United States and Canada.
