What we know: Qilin ransomware group recently joined BreachForums, announcing its interest in acquiring corporate access from countries like the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Australia for USD 200.

Context: Founded in late 2022, the Russia-linked group has established itself in the ransomware world. Since its emergence, Qilin has reportedly claimed over 310 victims, including a major American newspaper group, Lee Enterprises.

Analyst note: Qilin is likely seeking corporate access on BreachForums to expand its ransomware operations by targeting high-value corporate access points to exfiltrate or encrypt sensitive data.

What we know: Kidflix has been shut down in an international operation against child sexual exploitation. The investigation has resulted in the identification of almost 1,400 suspects worldwide and at least 79 of these individuals have been arrested for sharing and distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Context: The cybercriminal who created Kidflix in 2021 made a huge profit as it gained notoriety among its target audience. According to authorities, 91,000 unique videos were uploaded and had a total of 1.8 million users worldwide logged on to the platform between April 2022 and March 2025.

Analyst note: Cybercriminals ensure longevity of child pornography platforms like Kidflix likely through encryption, anonymous networks, and security protocols to share CSAM. While shutting down Kidflix likely temporarily disrupts CSAM distribution, offenders are likely to migrate to other platforms.

Geopolitical Focus | Turkey Demonstrations Threaten Economic and Political Stability

Turkey is facing severe demonstrations following the arrest of a popular opposition leader. The country is unlikely to face significant external pressure over the agitation. It has made itself indispensable to international partners due to its leadership roles in Ukraine and Syria and in containing immigration. President Recep Erdogan is unlikely to be displaced by agitation. However, the government’s response indicates concern that the demonstrations could continue to escalate. If the situation persists longer, there are chances of pro-democracy hacktivist groups targeting government entities with cyberattacks such as website defacements and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

DEEP AND DARK WEB INTELLIGENCE

BreachForums user miya: Well-regarded threat actor “miya” has advertised unauthorized access to web panel, SQL, and DNS of an unnamed Chinese furniture retailer worth about USD 3 billion. Miya is charging USD 600 for the sale. The access is likely to enable malicious actors to disrupt operations of the retailer, engage in double extortion by stealing company data and encrypting the information, and use the data for phishing campaigns.

VULNERABILITY AND EXPLOIT INTELLIGENCE

Verizon vulnerability: A now-fixed vulnerability in Verizon's Call Filter app enabled customers to access incoming call logs for other Verizon numbers via an unsecured API. The app, offering spam detection and call blocking, is pre-installed and enabled by default on several eligible Android and iOS devices purchased directly from Verizon. This vulnerability could expose users' private call data, leading to breaches.

Affected products: Verizon's Call Filter app
