Residential Privacy Risks Amplified by Penn. Gov. Josh Shapiro Incident

What we know: An arson attack on the official residence of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has underscored the risks of publicly accessible address information and threats to the physical security of family dwellings.

Context: On April 13, 2025, Shapiro’s official residence was set on fire while the Governor and his family, along with guests were home. No one was injured in the incident. The suspect has been arrested and authorities have confirmed the attack was due to personal animosity, albeit not ideological.

Analyst note: Official and private addresses available through data aggregator sites, property records, and real estate listings are likely to be exploited in both physical and digital threats. Similar attacks against politicians across the political spectrum are likely to stem from personal grievances or perceived injustice as opposed to specific ideological affiliation.

4chan Breached and Admin Details Leaked

What we know: 4chan had been taken offline after a major cyberattack allegedly carried out by members of the Soyjak.party imageboard site (a rival imageboard site), who leaked admin tools, emails, and claimed long-term access to the site.

Context: 4chan has often been associated with controversial and sometimes illegal activities, including the promotion of extremist content and the leaking of stolen data from major companies.

Analyst note: The exposure of some of 4chan’s admin information could reveal individuals who have shaped or enabled extremist discourse online. If any staff member facilitated illegal activity or hate speech, this exposure is likely to lead to investigations.

Law Enforcement Activity Suspected as BreachForums Goes Dark

What we know: ZeroFox has observed that dark web forum BreachForums has become inaccessible. As of reporting, its clearnet and onion sites are displaying a "502 Bad Gateway" error.

Context: A document allegedly leaked on a Russian-language dark web forum claims BreachForums has been an FBI honeypot since March 2025 under a classified operation, "Spectral Tango." Reports have emerged of other alleged domains, breachforums[.]cc and breachforums[.]im, both of which ZeroFox observed to be up for sale at the time of writing.

Analyst note: It is likely that the forum is now under FBI control and has been taken down. However, the marketplace is very likely to resurface with a new domain—as it did after a law enforcement operation took it down in May 2024.

DEEP AND DARK WEB INTELLIGENCE

Telegram user DieNet: ZeroFox has observed pro-Palestine threat actor group "DieNet" claiming to have DDoSed Venmo and Uber. Any operational disruption as a result of this attack could incapacitate thousands of users, impacting everyday transportation and payments, resulting in financial loss.

VULNERABILITY AND EXPLOIT INTELLIGENCE

CVE-2025-24859: A critical security vulnerability has been revealed in Apache Roller open-source, Java-based blogging server software. It could enable malicious actors to maintain unauthorized access to the system, even after users change their password, enabling persistent access. This could lead to manipulation or exfiltration of sensitive data, and execution of malicious code.
