ZeroFOX Acquires Vulnr
ZeroFOX accelerates growth through the acquisition of stealth-mode security company Vulnr
Baltimore, MD. – January 27, 2015 – ZeroFOX, The Social Risk Management Company, announced today its acquisition of Vulnr, a stealth-mode security technology company. The company also announced that Vulnr’s founder, Mike Price, has joined the ZeroFOX team as Senior Director of Research and Development. Price has been charged with leading ZeroFOX’s R&D team, which strives to develop cutting edge technology for social risk management, taking into account his impressive record of success and innovation at Vulnr.
Vulnr’s cutting edge technology will be immediately integrated into ZeroFOX Enterprise, cyber security’s social risk management platform, to bolster the company’s already robust product offerings. Vulnr was an innovator in identifying new methods of risk and vulnerability, and many of the analysis methodologies and techniques created at Vulnr will be reinterpreted for ZeroFOX Enterprise. Doing so will enhance ZeroFOX’s social media intelligence gathering and contextual output capabilities.
“The ZeroFOX platform has never been stronger, and we are continuing to execute on our vision. The combination of our teams further solidifies our position within the industry and is a direct reflection of our executive team’s ability to think creatively and act quickly,” said James C. Foster, ZeroFOX CEO. “Bringing on this new talent will have huge positive impacts on our company and most importantly our customers – Mike has already proven himself in his new role as Senior Director of R&D by infusing his work with Vulnr into ZeroFOX Enterprise. I couldn’t be more excited about welcoming Vulnr in to the ZeroFOX family.”
Social media has become the most prolific mode of digital communication in human history – nearly ¾ of internet-connected people are active on social, totaling over 2.5 billion accounts between Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn alone. This growing threat vector requires a new breed of cyber security solution and a company who can keep pace. ZeroFOX’s acquisition demonstrates a continued dedication to staying at the vanguard of the emerging social risk management industry.
“I’m very pleased to be able to bring the technologies and skills built at Vulnr to complement the solutions being built at ZeroFOX,” said Mike Price, former CEO at Vulnr and current Senior Director of Research and Development at ZeroFOX. “ZeroFOX is the leader in the social risk management space and there are a number of impactful customer problems to be solved. Via the acquisition, our goal is to help strengthen ZeroFOX’s ability to provide its customers with the best protection available.”
