Flash Report: No Kings Events Aim to Counter Official Celebrations
7 minute read

Key Findings

  • The June 14, 2026, No Kings organized activities likely represent a strategic pivot away from mass street marches toward an indoor, hyper-local model built around the Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment live stream from The Town Hall in New York City and nationwide watch parties.
  • This format shift very likely lowers the baseline risk of large-scale street unrest and broad commercial disruption on June 14 from the June 2025, October 2025, and March 2026 days of action, which each set single-day U.S. protest records.
  • Watch parties and localized actions are confirmed across at least 21 states; events have thus far been scheduled in and around Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco, with the flagship concert in New York City.
  • ZeroFox assesses the credible risk of violence as low but non-zero. Over 99 percent of the March 2026 No Kings demonstrations were peaceful; residual flashpoint risk persists chiefly near federal facilities such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and courthouses, as well as in cities with recent escalation histories (Los Angeles, Portland, and Dallas).
  • Washington, D.C., is almost certainly the highest-profile security node due to the UFC Freedom 250 event that will be held on June 13 and 14 on the White House South Lawn. No Kings organizers have likely deliberately avoided staging in Washington, D.C., again; as of early June, federal and local officials have not reported any credible threats to the event.
  • Threats to private businesses from No Kings events on June 14 are very likely limited and indirect. Businesses that host watch parties and those that are subject to continued consumer boycott campaigns are likely to face limited economic risks rather than property targeting.

Action on June 14, 2026

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the No Kings coalition—partnering with the Committee for the First Amendment, Indivisible, and the 50501 movement—will mark its one-year anniversary and Flag Day with a nationwide mobilization centered on a 90-minute concert live streamed from The Town Hall in New York City, beginning at 7:30 PM EDT.1 Local groups are encouraged to host public and private watch parties in living rooms, community centers, and local businesses.2

Organizers have explicitly framed the day as a cultural counterprogram to President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, the UFC Freedom 250 event, and the administration’s America250 festivities, positioning it as a community-building alternative rather than a confrontation. Materials reiterate the movement’s standing commitment to nonviolence, de-escalation, lawful conduct, and a strict no-weapons policy at all events.3

This is a meaningful departure from prior No Kings mobilizations. The June 14, 2025, action drew an estimated five million people across approximately 2,100 sites; October 18, 2025, grew to about seven million across approximately 2,700 sites; and March 28, 2026, reached an estimated eight million across approximately 3,300 sites.4,5 The March 28, 2026, numbers likely represent the largest single-day protest tally since 2020.

Planned Cities and Locations

As the centerpiece of the upcoming No Kings mobilization effort is a live-streamed concert with self-registered watch parties, the June 14 event is likely to be defined less by large, street-level marches and more by dispersed, indoor venues. Confirmed and reported activities include:

  • Flagship New York City Rise Up, Sing Out concert at The Town Hall in Midtown Manhattan, streamed nationwide.
  • Watch parties across at least 21 states, with scheduled clusters in and around Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco.6
  • Smaller locales and faith/community venues that have already listed local watch parties (e.g., Greater Nashville). Live, self-registered locations are very likely being scheduled via event apps, such as Mobilize.7

Many of the self-registered events on apps such as Mobilize will almost certainly not materialize due to the frequency of cancelled events on these platforms. However, local street rallies will almost certainly still be organized independently of the national concert framework. ZeroFox assesses these more traditional street protests are unlikely to present a threat of major violence.

Likelihood of Violence Low but Not Zero

As of writing, ZeroFox has not observed any credible threats of violence related to No Kings events planned for June 14, 2026, suggesting that the risk is likely low but non-zero. Ninety-nine percent of the March 2026 No Kings protests were peaceful, and the organizers for the upcoming events are very likely prioritizing de-escalation in order to maintain a focus on nonviolent protest.8

  • On June 2, 2026, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Secret Service, D.C. National Guard, U.S. Capitol Police, and U.S. Park Police jointly unveiled the America250 security plan at the D.C. Armory. Officials stated there are “no known credible threats” while stressing continued vigilance; the FBI Washington Field Office characterized Washington, D.C., as a “target-rich environment” and urged the public to report suspicious activity.9

The dominant federal concern is almost certainly lone-actor violence rather than organized protest violence. A DHS alert circulated to law enforcement partners in March 2026 highlighted the lone-actor threat, which is consistent with federal law enforcement bulletins regarding prior mass-gathering dates that flagged lone offenders and vehicle-ramming as primary terrorism concerns.10

While the overall threat to law enforcement is very likely low, federal facilities—especially those associated with DHS’s ICE—very likely face a unique security threat. During the March 2026 No Kings events, splinter groups clashed with police at ICE detention centers in both Los Angeles and Chicago. There is a roughly even chance that similar clashes at ICE-related facilities will occur again on June 14, 2026.11

Business Disruptions

To date, ZeroFox has not observed any credible threats to business operations associated with the upcoming No Kings events. The broader movement has institutionalized boycott campaigns—most prominently against Tesla and other Elon Musk-linked firms—that will likely see renewed messaging around the date; however, these are economic, rather than physical, in nature.12

As on previous No Kings days of action, lists of No Kings “partner” organizations have been circulated online—very likely by pro-Trump administration groups seeking to discredit the broader No Kings movement by suggesting it is not grassroots or organic.13

  • Businesses that publicly host or sponsor No Kings concert watch parties will likely attract online criticism or countermobilization, particularly from groups that seek to expose companies they view as being actively anti-Trump.

ZeroFox assesses the overall disruption attributable specifically to No Kings will very likely be less than in prior cycles, as the planned actions are largely indoors and distributed. Business disruptions over the June 13–14, 2026, weekend are more likely to come from potential customers attending events instead of frequenting businesses rather than from targeted, No Kings activity.

It is very likely the June 14, 2026, No Kings events will be predominantly peaceful, and ZeroFox assesses they will likely be less disruptive overall than the three prior No Kings days of action owing to their deliberate concert-and-watch-party design. However, law enforcement almost certainly sees lone-wolf actors as a primary threat and will very likely increase the security posture around federal buildings, especially those associated with DHS and ICE.
